Stupid Massachusetts Question Results.
Question 1: Eliminate income tax. Voted: No. Good, now we won't have to cut even more public funding to schools, hospitals and police and fire departments.
Question 2: Decriminalize marijuana. Voted: Yes. Bad, since now all the people carrying pot will now be allowed to. Well, not allowed to. But the rules weren't enforced anyway, so I guess it doesn't even matter.
Question 3: Eliminate dog racing. Voted: Yes. Yay for doggies not cramped up anymore. I think...

I love Massachusetts *send cupcakes* I even like the pot one, I would never smoke myself, but I do think people have the right to be stupid in their own homes... like when I dance when no one else is home. I also think that it may turn out to be easier to regulate if it's legal. Well have to see how that turns out. We're just trying to pass the medical marijuana proposal.

People carry pot around as it is. And nothing was ever done about it. Some people are like, "One mistake shouldn't go on your record and keep you from doing stuff." I'm just like, "You smoke, and you get caught, that's a mistake that SHOULD go on your record." I have zero tolerance for drugs, generally even for medical purposes.

I feel like alcohol and prescription medication are often more addictive and worse for you than marijuana, so it's not like there isn't a precedent for legal damaging things... but you're only hurting yourself when you use them in accordance with the law, so I think it's your right.
Marijuana also has pretty substantial evidence showing that it can really help people cope with debilitating diseases and if you've virtually been handed a death sentence you deserve all the tools to cope you can get.
But I do try to understand where you're coming from. I imagine the students at my night school are a heck of a lot like the pot heads at your school. >_>
Edit: My brother just looked it up and found that it doesn't decriminalize it, but rather replaces the current criminal penalties for small amounts with a $100 fine.

At this very moment, it's looking grim. Two hours ago, it was 23% no, 50-something% yes. Now, it's 52% yes, and 47% no. We're so close, but it's getting later and later.

Heh, gratz, Moo xD
I don't think marijuana should be decriminalized fully. It IS addictive and certain kinds being delt have chemicals run through it which can, and have, sent people into psychotic episodes. It also burns hotter then tobaco - you're more likely to get cancer of the mouth, throat and lung from smoking it. Not to mention the danger to others from those who smoke it and get behind a wheel because they think they're okay. In WA you can have two small plants for personal use but I think the Liberals will be chanigng that law again.

I think people can do what they want with their own bodies. It is not our job to protect people from being stupid. I also think it's common sense that driving while high falls into driving while intoxicated.
These props passing are really a killjoy. >_>

And they still can without the government saying its okay to do so. Legalizing it is like saying its okay and safe to do it, which it isn't. *had too many of her brothers useless, pot-addicted friends around her to ever like it being okay* The only legalization of it that I would support would be for the terminally ill, not just recrational.
*pats Moo* Focus on the Obama. All will be fine.

Alcohol is legal, doesn't mean it's okay and safe. Same with tobacco. I don't think it's okay at all, but I don't think the government should ban it, I think it should be legal and well-regulated.
I can't ignore the appalling, discriminatory ballot measures that got passed yesterday. *still hopeful in California prop 8*
Edit: *just rewatched Jon Stewart announcing Barack Obama as the President of the United States of America* Okay, that helped. :3

No, it doesn't, but in moderation a person can still function. Doesn't matter if you only have a little bit of pot you still get stoned. Granted I think the main reason government doesn't fully legalize and regulate it is because people can grow their own easily and therefor its difficult to tax, but that doesn't mean I'm mad about it not being legalized.
