Monkey and I discovered Skype yesterday, a program which allows you to speak over the internet, either from your computer to a real phone or directly to another Skype user. Skype-to-Skype is free (though my computer dislikes having to deal with it and anything else). As long as your have a built-in mic or one connected to your computer you're good to go.

Thanks to Skype Monkey and I now know with absolute assurance that we aren't 50-year-old-men! Our illusions of one another have been shattered forever but we managed to clear up how to say Monkey's weird last name and that "whinge" is a word, not a typo xD

With Skype you can have audio conference calls with up to 24 people! Monkey and I are now curious to see how such a call would go. We predict much giggling, lots of white noise and Jo talking all our ears off

Yeah but you'd still sound grown up xD Monkey sounded all grown up.
I would still talk to you! It would just take me a long time to work up the courage press the call/answer button xDDD

xDD She didn't have a really thick accent, not like Palin or southern redneck hicks. As far as American accents go it was fairly even, like the ones used by most American actors, but there was a hint of an accent in certain phrasing. My mum heard her and said she sounded very grown up, which I thought as well. Not 30-year-old woman grown but I guess I wasn't sure what to expect so what came was an extra surprise.

I guess if you don't really know what to expect, it's probably going to be something of a surprise ^^ But yeah, at least it wasn't a Palin accent 'Palinized'
