Vury blurry but its not like I have a celestial camera! xD It happens every twentyfive years. That's the moon at half wax with two stars above it all shiny. Everything else around it is unusually black xD Edit: www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,459428,00.html - Read more here P.S: Suck Eastern Staters!

Ah yes, the whole city thing xD I like trips into Mandurah where its still quite undeveloped; the stars just... multiply.

Yes, the whole city thing. The only lights we get are skyscraper ones xD
There was this astronomy centre I visited while I was in Perth 4 years ago; they had these really powerful telescopes which you could use to see the stars clearly. Where's Mandurah?

Ah yeah, the observatory. I've never really been there myself, even when I went through my star-gazing phase xD Had a telescope and everything. Mandurah is south of Perth. Its not quite as far down as Margaret river. You can get there by train now, which is really handy for all the crazy commuters who work in Perth. Now they don't have to drive for hours at a time to get up here.

You went through a star-gazing phase? *chuckle* Didn't know you were that type But telescopes are horridly expensive. Sounds like a pretty place...

Sure did xD Didn't really study into it or anything, I just had fun pointing the telescope and looking at the planets.
Its quite nice. I have relatives who live up by the river who have been there since the early days. We used to go up there for christmas every year until my mum had a falling out with my great uncle. xP

FYI Anne: Jupiter and Venus = planets, not stars.
I was all excited when I saw them yesterday, but I was only excited because the moon was the perfect crescent from the Fantasticks play. Then today, my mother was all flipping out and spent an hour outside trying to take pictures, and I was like, "You saw this yesterday... ? xD"

Thank you Sorie for that completely unnecessary FYI. 83 I'm not a toddler; I know the difference between a named planet and a star.
I posted this right after seeing them in the sky, where the planets look quite undistinguishable from stars without a telescope (which I no longer own). It wasn't until afterwards that I found and read the article stating they were planets, which you might notice I linked to in an edit. There seemed no reason to amend my first post.
Also, while I remember, Monkey has noticed that your siggie is stretching the board. If you can please change it/make it smaller that would be nice.

I used to hang a little model of the planet Saturn in my old room when I was a kid ^^ Probably because it was the only planet with a funny ring around it xD
A falling out? That's a shame, I'll bet Christmas there must have been nice.
Meh, I don't like Fox News but it's a nice article. Dang, I hate starless nights xD

I'm sorry too, I was a little snippy >.>; Its been very hot here lately and I didn't get much sleep.
Aw, Nick liked the funny ring? xD I quite liked Saturn as well and Venus, but that was because of a story book I had where Venus was a girl so naturally she had to be my favourite xD
It was a pretty good article, I was surprised as they have a bad rap xD
