Heh, Funny.
Most people don't even know where the expression Jonesing came from xD Monkey, Nick and Jo certainly hadn't heard of the Jonestown Massacre when I talked about it before. I'm hoping at least one of the rest of you do?

I don't know why that comic made me laugh so hard, but it did. It's probably because I'm feeling rather ill and more than a little bit knackered.
The Jonestown Massacre was that thing in Guyana in the 70's with the mass cyanide poisonings, right? *isn't quite sure she's right*

o_0
Are you sure that's where it comes from?
I thought it was because jones was an old term for heroin. *can't find anything suggesting either*

I... don't see the connection between a massacre and the phrase 'jonesing'? =/ I've never heard of it before today either. xDD

What /I/ thought it is is that "Jones" used to be a term for heroin, so you'd say you were "Jonesing" if you craved heroin. And then eventually it just became craving anything. For example, "Bogarting" was originally in that Grateful Dead song with "don't Bogart that joint my friend," but now you'd use "Bogart" for anything, including talking about Humphrey Bogart. ^_^

I'd never heard of 'Jonesing', either, so... ? Although Josh Gracin does say it in one of his funny songs...

Oh, I get it. xD I've heard of 'keeping up with the Joneses'. ... in some sort of idiom book that was lying around, I think.

No one else has a different time zone for me? We are all closer than I thought.
EDIT: I have a "After I learn to become a sniper in the SAS I will kill you all off from a safe distance and never get caught because snipers and assassins never do really and then I will laugh heartily" list. =]

I do. I didn't have any other choice for England, sorry. And I don't need anyone on the east coast because the math for that is easy. I♥MacDashboard
