Lauren: Paternal. Heh, that's an interesting situation. I guess it would be a repeat, since I think the naming system was a leftover from Arab culture that allowed easy tracing of lineage, since properly it'd be First Name bint/ibn (daughter/son of) Father's Name bint/ibn Grandfather's Name. Without the bint/ibn the double name seems a bit redundant but with it, it would make more sense.
