Its because they don't have faces - you draw them on.

I remember pregnant barbie. They came out when I was old enough to appreciate the silliness and I couldn't help but wonder exactly where the baby came out and how you got it back in xD
*snorts* It amuses me how so many things that come out over there end up with someone saying it promotes teen pregnancy xD The doll is /married/ clearly at least thirty and has already had one child with her husband before. Know what else promotes teen pregnancy? Making girls feel like they should be dating at age 9 because it's 'cute' and never really discussing sex, only abstinence x.<
Anyway, my favourite barbie was the Beauty and the Beast barbie. I love that film so much, and would cry everytime Beast died and turned into the prince. Apparently I liked the Beast better.

Oh, the Beast was definitely better. ^_^ My favorite Barbie wasn't anything special, she was just a Barbie.

I don't think I've actually ever seen the movie Beauty And The Beast. Though I did see it in a high school play. The dancing spoons were made of cardboard and silver sticky paper that blinded your eyes while they danced...o.0

"enjoyed only a modest success" I watched TV up until 2004, but don't recall seeing them in commercials. *shrug* For whatever reason I read through the article, and I have a tendency to feel bad for ideas that didn't quite work out so nice. It seems like they tried really hard to attract success. D: However I think that I as a child would have been a little intimidated by the faceless dolls. EDIT: I completely missed page 3 before posting. x_o I was heavily disappointed in the prince. He wasn't really that attractive at all. Enjoyable movie, however.

The Beast was hot, dammit. I was so disappointed at the end. xD
