As much as I like not having to touch it, they make peeing much more intimidating.

I've been coming up blank for a good reason to take you to my crappy school and show you around. xD

I was hoping there would be something interesting going on, but it's pretty dead in the summer.
Oh, maybe we could just tour the Henry Ford Estate and see it then.

Automatic toilets are the devil incarnate. I've never been particularly comfortable around toilets to begin with, but being around one that's watching my every move is just unbearable. Either the first or second time I used one, I was about seven. I hadn't even moved, and it flushed on me. To this day, I block the sensor with toilet paper. No matter what. Never trust them. Never!

xD Sorie. <3 But auto-flushing toilets are funn. Of course, anyone in the bathroom probably wonders why the toilet flushes like ten times when I'm in there.
But the worst kind of bathroom is WITHOUT CONTEST the squatty potties. D< It's (apparently) impossible to keep them clean and you have to hold your breath the whole time you're inside.

Oh whoops, I meant *toilet seats
I was once in a bathroom on a farm where they recycled all their waste. The bathroom looks normal, except that there are no flushers, so you just pee into this huge abyss under the farm house, which is on stilts. It is the oddest sensation, since there is a bit of a breeze.

I just talked to my mom about things in to do and realized that I forgot a /lot/of things. Here is more stuff you might be interested (Again these are just suggestions! If something doesn't sound appealing, don't worry about it):
The Bronx Zoo - Possibly the largest zoo in New York. I am not actually sure about the validity of that, I just know that it is very large. Personally I think zoos are boring, but if you like zoos, this is a great place to go.
New York Botanical Garden - Right down the road from the Bronx Zoo. Pretty, but I also think it's rather boring. I would rather go to Wave Hill, which I wrote more about earlier.
Yankee Stadium - I doubt either of you have any reason for wanting to go here, especially with the old stadium demolished, but if you do, it is here.
Brooklyn Bridge - The first steel suspension bridge in the world! Very pretty, even if you don't care about the history behind it.
Governor's Island - An Island that used to have something to do with the Coast Guard but is now open to the public as sort of a park thing. Nothing too interesting, but I think they sometimes have concerts, and it might be a nice place to just chill out for a day. They rent bikes out.
The New York Transit Museum - A museum about New York transit, obviously, creatively located in an old subway station. This is a fun museum, one of the few I actually consider interesting, and is complete with vintage trains. The only problem is that it's pretty out of the way, and I don't know if trekking all the way to Brooklyn is worth it.
Ellis Island - The island through which my grandparents and great-grandparents came through when they immigrated here. I don't actually remember the museum that well, but it's one of my dad's favorites. This might be because he has more of a connection with it, with it being his parents instead of grandparents, and also being older than me.
Union Square - There will be a lottttt of hipsters here. A huge amount. Not quite as much as in the Village or the like, but there will still be plenty of hipster to go around. Even so, this is a nice place to chill out, and they have farmer's markets and craft fairs on the weekends. There are a number of vegetarian places around here, or at least places with food Monkey could eat. I also think there is a cupcake cafe somewhere around there.
The South Street Seaport - Very out of the way, but, again, a nice place to chill out. Go look around in the shops, enjoy the weather, or go on a boat ride. If someone dropped you here blindfolded from a helicopter and you'd never been to New York before, you would have no idea you were in Manhattan.
St. Patrick's Cathedral - Beautiful architecture and right on 5th Avenue, which I think is overrated, but you might want to go see anyway.
The New York Public Library - Beautiful and full of books
Broadway shows! - If you don't mind waiting on line at TKTS, you can get discounted tickets for shows here. You also might want to look online at like Ticketmaster or something. My favorite musicals (of the ones I've seen!) are The Lion King, Mary Poppins, Avenue Q, The Fantasticks, and Wicked. If you don't like musicals, there are still plenty of good plays on Broadway. My favorites of those are The 39 Steps, a fantastically brilliant Hitchcock spoof and God of Carnage. Race I haven't seen, but my aunt says it is really really good. There are dozens of plays though, so I recommend checking that out yourself.
The Cloisters - A medieval art and architecture museum situated in a very pretty park and an even prettier building.
A NOTE: Unless you /really/ feel you must visit them, stay clear of Times Square, SoHo, The Empire State Building, The Chrysler Building, and The Statue of Liberty. They are all rather boring and lackluster, and all you're going to see is more tourists.

At least not too scary... Nick might have a different opinion after the week is through, though. (x
