As a couple of you know, the day after I was pretty much accepted I received a phone call from the admissions department telling me I wasn't eligible for a portfolio entry into University after all, and that I should just go back to TAFE or come back in two years when I was twenty and eligible for Mature Age Entry. Neither were really an option for me and hearing that after practically being enrolled sort of... devastated me and I deleted the first announcement board.
Fast forward to today my mum *pretty* much sorted it all out (hero mum xD) and we're still waiting to hear back from the Admissions Dept about a special entry. However the Department head of the Creative Industries saw me in an interview today. He was one of those cool artistic academics who are really smart and awesome. He took one look at my work and said I was highly skilled and was happy for me to join them. 'It's a pity you couldn't finish Tafe, or I would have given you advanced standing here and now.'
He said most people in the industry are highly strung, and it's rare to find someone truly gifted who isn't 'a bit touched' xDD In other words it's okay I have some anxiety/depression issues, as long as I let them know and don't sort of... wallow in my own horror I'll be okay.
So the department of Creative Industries is happy, just as long as the Admissions Dept. fall in line I should start next week.

Oh, and the School of Creative industries is on the same campus as WAAPA (West Australian Academy of Performing Arts), which is a really prestigious performing arts academy. I wanted to do music there and if I get around to it, that's where I would do my costuming course. But you see there is fun in just sharing a campus with WAAPA, because the performers frequently spend lunch times and breaks jumping out into the eating area and put on shows, or wander by in costumes if they're putting on an official performance.
I didn't get any free shows, but walking by I saw a girl with a double base, heard the percussion people practice and an opera student suddenly burst into song xD It was great.

They are Dx I wonder if its a super mum power they automatically get during labour (like people starting to "sense ghosts" after almost dying or flight when exposed to radiation). I hope so too! I can go for the first and second week as it takes that long to enrol people in classes, which gives us plenty of time to fight the admissions department if they decide to get pedantic.

I agree, mums are capable of wondrous things. I really don't know how they do it. Also, your.... *doesn't know what to call it* sounds very exciting and fun, do enjoy yourself. I wouldn't worry too much about the admissions people, if you slap them around enough they'll come to.
