I was at this cheesy old diner with mom yesterday because my dad was out on business, one where they have individual "jukeboxes" in each booth. When I was little, they fascinated me, so I'd always bother my parents for quarters for the machine. So, after going back to this diner after (at least) 6 years, of course I still wanted to mess around with the jukebox. Only instead of playing 19th Nervous Breakdown, like I told it to, the stupid thing played Ridin' by Chamillionaire. And my mom is well over 50. The waiter didn't even attempt to not laugh at us. He actually commented on our "nice" song choice.
One of the most embarrassing situations in the past... month or so.

My question would be why hip hop music is in a diner-style restaurant's jukebox.

Our diners have those, but the juteboxes are typically non-functioning. Fortunately they only list 50s/olden day songs and not hip hop xDD

The only time I've ever seen one of those was at Johnny Rocket's and at this weird old pizza place, which now doesn't hae those, but still has really good pizza. XD

My question would be why hip hop music is in a diner-style restaurant's jukebox. They're like these metal box things with music cards that you filp through with a knob. I think the last time the music was updated was sometime in the early 00's, so it has a lot of Britney Spears/N'Sync/other pop/hiphop stuff, although there's also a couple of Sinatra albums.

It's pretty funny that I somehow know the lyrics, even though I've probably heard it about five times max in my life, and that was 7 years ago.

I never paid attention to NSYNC so I'm not too horribly scarred by that list

I think it would be hilarious if someone switched up the names of the music cards just so people would be... surprised by the music that came out. I dunno NSYNC. xD But! I don't think I've ever seen a real working jukebox! =D That's pretty awesome. (Except for the embarrassing part of it... >>)

Well fine, Lauren and I will just go hide in our cave of bad music that filled my childhood. Though she'll probably want to leave once my corpse starts to rot after I die of blood loss out the ears.

Filled my childhood as well. Oh dear. The nineties bled into my kindergarten and pre-school years, unfortunately. I actually still have a Grammy nominees CD from 2001 with both Britney Spears and NSYNC on it. And probably the Backstreet Boys too.
