so yeah.
i'm going to be bored over the summer, so i need some books to read.
and i've read just about every interesting book there is to read (or so i think), so... a few suggestions, please?
no girly melodramatic dramas, please, or romances (eww).
and i should be able to find it at the local library.
thanks!

Garth Nix is awesome! =D Dunno if you can find it at your local library, but maybe you can do interlibrary loans? I would also recommend the Belgariad series by David Eddings (fantasy, as are Nix's pieces - at least, the ones in the Abhorsen trilogy, which are the ones I read).

The Twilight series ("Twilight", "New Moon" & "Eclipse") They're supposedly romance...but they're sooooo well written, you'll never notice. The Burn Journals (if you're feeling morbid) Speak (an overall sad book, but it's got really good parts) Prey (again, for those morbid days) The Misfits (an easy read for those mentally retarded days)
I don't read much so that's all I've got.

Heh, I have most of David Edding's books as well xD I like his two Sparhawk trilogies better, though.

Charles D.i.c.k.ens for crying out loud. Please take off the swearing filters >.<
Okay... Garth Nix rocks my socks, he is amazing. Philip Pullman, Phillip Reeves books... Eion Colfer's Artemis Fowl books are great, funny and about fairies. Well, what about that.
Do you like parodies? >> Bored of the Rings, The Sellamillion, The Soddit etc etc ^_^

Ooh, I like Artemis Fowl, though I think it may have been getting a bit weak towards the fourth book. Haven't read the fifth yet.

I have a summer reading list a mile long D:
It's just this giant list of books I've been wanting to read since forever and haven't gotten a chance to actually read.
Also, I removed a few of the less threatening (and just plain funny) restricted words as per Jo's request.

Ooh, (I know it's a little old, being that the summer is over, but whatever), if you're feeling intellectual Kurt Vonnegurt's Cat's Cradle is hilarious in a dark way, and anything Gregory Macguire is good (Wicked, Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister). If you're feeling just normal smart, then the Artemis Fowl series is quite interesting. Holly (one of the main characters) is awesome. If you're feeling like something really short and funny in a cute, sort of stupid-ish way, read Lauren's short story about the cube. xDDDDD

Haha, nice last suggestion. I did my junior research paper on Cat's Cradle and its historical context. That was kind of scary, actually. D:
