What color should I paint my room? (I'll take pictures tomorrow, but for now I'll just let you know that it's a fairly long and narrow rectangle with a sloping ceiling because it's in the attic and there are lots of windows. A window-door to the terrace, a largish window facing the river and the setting sun, a panel of windows facing out into the stairwell, and windows toward the south, near the door.) I originally wanted to paint it metallic gold, like in Bridge to Terabithia, so that the light from the sunset would glint off the walls, but I've heard mixed things about metallic paint. Now I just want to keep it bright and happy, so I'm leaning on the warm color side, but I also think dark teal would be gorgeous, so I might do that. What do you think? If there's a color you really like but isn't bright or warm, it's fine, I might like it anyway.

*waits for your pictures for two days* Not really, I just saw this. I think maybe a lightish orange? I'm no interior designer or anything, but I think it might fit from what I'm forming in my head, because yellow I almost feel would just. Wash out with all the sunlight. Maybe. Not an expert.

I like the orange idea.
*still hasn't read it*

I'm really fickle about paint and ultimately no matter how much I want to paint my room, I rarely make a choice.
That very bright teal-blue (http://zeynepkinli.files.wordpress.com/2009/09/rtemagicc_supra-snake-teal-vaiders.jpg - A bit like this but) is a fantastic colour for interiors and makes really good feature walls when paired with white and/or black. Depending on the cost of paint and the type of furniture you have, I think you could do a really cool thing where you had a teal-blue feature wall and an orange feature wall with black walls between.

I like teal. I also like orange.
My room has one red wall, one black wall and two white ones, hence I never actually decided what to paint my room. So I'm not going to talk about this anymore. XD

You should look at low or no VOC paints.

I figured you did, which is why I gave an example of the teal I meant. Dark teal is a very subdued colour. It goes quite well with certain pinks and gold but its such a calm colour I didn't really think it would necessarily be nice for your bedroom, especially if you want an upbeat happy vibe. Mind you if it's a colour you like that makes you happy, that probably wont matter in the long run.

Finally found the cord for my camera! Of course we have to clean out all the crap before I can move up there. Man there is a lot of crap.

Oh wow, you and Jo will be weird-ass-shaped-attic-room-buddies.
What a long room! You could paint it grey and then make a mural of a submarine. Or otherwise paint it yellow and adorn it with psychadelia like the yellow submarine.
The wall with the door seems like it should be painted gold like Terabithia, as was your first idea xD

adorn it with psychadelia like the yellow submarine. Don't give her Beatles-related ideas! >

Because I am a Beatles fanatic.
The submarine thing would be cool but I don't know how it would work. xD
Which wall with the door? There are three walls with doors.

xDD Yeah it would be a lot more complex then just slapping on some paint. Huh, so there is imgur.com/sxavR.jpg - Dot

D: *can't see the pictures* Have you decided? Make sure you take tons of pictures after you paint it. xD
... or you should do a mural. >>
