Unless there is some unforeseen delay (which there have been a few of) my chickens, along with their new coup, should be arriving tomorrow! We decided to get baby ones. No explanations why Sure it will be ages before we'll actually get any eggs, but come on: BABY CHICKENS. We've ordered two gold and two silver laced wyandottes, which should hatch tomorrow x33 I'm so excited. I was going to give them English cottage garden-y names, like Marigold and Thyme but it occurred to me those sorts of names were better suited to big fat red chooks and that wyandottes clearly warranted something frenchier. Thus far I have: Chantilly Versailles Tuileries (whose nickname will be Twilly) Now I need a fourth name. Anyone whose paid attention to France will know that those three names are French chateaus/palaces, and notably ones that Andre le Notre worked on. However I've run out of those whose name I like and looks/sounds pretty. So if there are any suggestions I'm all ears xD

NAME ONE LEINSTER.
Or Toulouse? I hate France and anything French but I think Toulouse is a really good word. Also there is another one, too. I forget it. Whatever.

Give them time, they'll be big healthy chickens this way.
Name one Detroit. 8)
I'm not particularly fond of French either. TOO MANY LETTERS NOT PRONOUNCED CORRECTLY.

Of course, Fort Detroit was founded by French fur traders... or something gross like that.
I'm barely French xD And it's really more the language.... and the whole, 'no religious freedom for you! Muaha! *frenchy laugh*' thing.

I like and have always liked Mireille. (pronounced mee-ray) Or you could name one Balayer, which means "to sweep" but I like the way it sounds. Montpelier is nice and bigot-sounding. And a nickname could be Monty. =D *totally not a flaming AP French student* Oh, but regardless, three cheers for poultry!

THEY CAAAAAAAAAAME!!! We thought for sure that they weren't because it was after dark but they did, toting their 4 and 2 year olds xD The kids were called Isaiah and Oliver. They were fairly well behaved, if a tiny bit violent on occasion. Apparently Isaiah likes fire XD
The chickens are just... so lovely. Versailles is this gorgeous copper brown gold sort of colour and fell asleep in my hand. She wouldn't leave my palm so I just sat there for about ten minutes with my hand in the brooder (which is the size of a hutch). While that was going on, one of the other chicks stuck its head up my sleeve and went to sleep.
Words cannot express the warmth and the soft and the love Dx
