I have had a wonderful new genre added to my bookshelf this year. It joins the likes of Fantasy/Science Fiction, Recipe/Decoration, Reference books, Pop ups and Avatar-DVDboxsets-which-I-treasure-beyond-imagining-and-call-themselves-books-so-it's-justified. This new genre is the Art and Making-Of books. I received two this year, and I honestly can't imagine any other animated creations that I would want the art books of more. - Beauty and the beast & - Avatar: the last airbender The latter was an extremely intuitive buy by Moo-darlink. It was on my wishlist and she didn't even know. Totally stoked. Hoped you guys had a good Christmas full of lovely gifts

I would actually love to see the contents of the Avatar book. I have this vague love for those kinds of books that I'm often not even aware of.

Sooooooooorrriiiiiiiieeee You can look at the Amazon preview here. They have a decent amount available in the look inside feature and a customer posted a video of some pages being flipped through. It really is a beautiful book. It includes sketches of many of the Avatar animals too. 8)

I received a preview of the book in my special edition season 1 DVD boxset. That was neat. Now I have the ~whole book~, which is FABULOUS I haven't had a good read through the big book because it's hot here and my hands are usually gross so I don't want to tarnish the pages. I'm waiting for a nice cool day to revel in it.

:3 Coooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooolllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll.
I tried to read all the text, but I started to get a headache. I always find those books interesting, even if it's not necessarily a show or movie that I'm obsessed with. I love to know how things came to be and such. I'm pretty sure the only art book I own to my knowledge is one for Space Jam. xD

Space Jam xDDD <33 I used to love that film. Although I think a lot of that was good marketing during my impressionable youth. Even now the name Space Jam brings up awesome pictures of Jordan, fluro green and various junk food snacks.
My dad collects the art books from all the Disney and Pixar films. They tend to be limited edition, and the aforementioned can and do sell out pretty quick. Quite a few of the ones he owns are worth $600+ now o.0; I really enjoyed reading through the one for the Princess and the Frog.
