I say I-thur and Root. Because I'm narrow minded, and it annoys me if people say either any other way. But I seem to be in the minority as to how to say them.

I say it your way most of the time, occasionally it becomes 'e-thur.' I used to say 'r-out' but then people told me it wasn't pronounced that way. T_T

I usually say 'Ee-thur' and 'R-out,' but on occasion I'll say 'I-thur' when I'm trying to sound special. *accidentally didn't vote for the first one*

I say both ee-thur and i-thur depending on what context I am using the word "either" for... o.0?
And I hate it when people say "ROWT" for route. ROOT. GO THE SCENIC ROOT.

I'm a stupid yutz. I do not say i-thur. So say ee-thur.
I disgrace myself. XD
My friend says i-thur. And it annoys me for no reason.

How do you guys pronounce the word 'veto'? I've always said 'vuh-toe' with enunciation on the second syllable, but I'm finding out that apparently I've been saying it wrong all this time and it's actually pronounced 'vee-toh' with weight on the vee? Is this true? Am I just ignorant? xD

Yes, yes you are.
(<3)
I was just thinking about this thread the other day when the reporter on the BBC News Hour pronounced dynasty 'din-usty' and I was suddenly all curious... after I stopped cringing and the confusion passed, of course.

I want to smack people who say din-usty xDD Those words that almost all nations pronounce exactly the same, except for some random toff on TV are the most irking of all.

So it isn't a UK pronunciation? I'll be very thankful if it isn't, I would hate to have another British English pronunciation or word I can't stand. xD

Heck, I guess it might be. We'll need Jo to confirm it. But my experience (even on Australian TV) is there is always someone with a snooty voice who pronounces words completely different to everyone else, just to be a snob xD

I don't know. I would say 'dinnastee' but I've never had to use the bloody word before.
How do you say it? Die-nasty?
