There are too many! I was talking to my brother and he suggested a few other fields so now I have to think more. And when you're in school, you don't really get the chance to experience many specialty fields before you have to apply for residency (next step of training) so you have to choose based on what you've read/heard and not always what you've actually seen. Do you guys know about blue holes? They're vertical underwater caves! Super cool looking. In the deepest one (near the bahamas) there's a breath holding competition apparently. This is what I learned in my biology class.

I know what the stages of doctor hood are from watching Scrubs 8| So do you feel confident that you'll know by the time residency approaches, or are you worried you'll be picking them out of a hat?
I did and I didn't. I didn't know they were called blue holes xD And I knew about breath holding competitions.

Haha nice Scrubs was a fun show! I think I'll have settled on one by then... Let's hope, anyway! Today is my white coat ceremony, also Eid, celebrating the end of Ramadan. A good day

Ah yes! I can't believe it was around a month ago that my friend, Aiya, was telling me about the imminent start of Ramadan.
White Coat ceremony? I have a picture in my head of what that probably is, but explain it to me? And did it go well?

Yeah, and now it's over. Went by pretty quick. Pretty simple, we go up on stage, they put a white coat on us, we shake hands and come down. Our white coats are short to let everyone know we're only students, not the real deal It went quite smoothly, although we had to wait a while for setup.

NOBODY TOLD ME THINGS WERE HAPPENING HERE.
I was at an Eid party on Sunday. I thought of you and your doctoring, Ice (it was at a doctor's house).

@anne: I know! It would make more sense for them to actually present them to us instead of us bringing them them, but I guess this was easier. Monkey--You have to keep an eye on it, we're sneaky like that Oh, awesome! I hope there was good food. Thanks We'll probably get the pictures in three month's time (somehow pictures taken by official university photographers never show up again). Today we had a barbecue at one of our deans' house, it was awesome. The property runs right up to the water so the view was gorgeous and we got to stay to see the sunset. Also, he had croquet and bocce and other misc. games out for us! Apparently the house was quite nice inside but I didn't check it out. I'm liking my classmates so far, we'll see what happens come exam time though. So interesting to think about the job of an admissions committee to ensure cohesion for the class and keep a good mix of personalities.

The food was amazing. He's Muslim Indian as well, so, yeah, pretty much the best stuff ever.
That is interesting. I always hope schools take into account what the students can teach each other, but then I think they really pay more attention to who can pay up front and who will make them look good (xD). It sounds like your school is better than that though!

Ah, excellent! My mom made us biryani Yeah there are barely any who can pay cash up front Most of us will make them look good, though! Our administration seems really friendly and helpful so that's a plus, too.
